Consider the Atheist

Consider the Atheist
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yflQd2jy...kgSRZrjadw

This is a video where the founder of American Atheists talks about what this country was really founded on, and how atheists have just stood by while the theists slowly corrupted it into the "christian nation" that so many theists believe it has been since the beginning. How if they had been fighting since the beginning, the fight today wouldn't be so hard. Now we're in such a minority that so many atheists have to hide in the closet, and many are afraid to come out because we're so untrusted, and we may lose everything we have. It's a bit sad that you have to profess christianity in most places just to hold public office.

I guess I can't blame the atheists of the past too much. Some problems don't really seem like problems until they get momentum going. Unfortunately this problem has so much momentum that people have forgotten the secular roots of USA.

Thankfully christianity really is dying, and the internet has helped so much with that. atheists have information and connections as long as they have internet access. Either at home, or at the public library. Of course the theists aren't taking this lightly. They're not waiting until atheism is strong again before fighting back. They have too much to lose.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.

I mean what she said is all true, except for the a little hyperbole about all the founder fathers being deists (they were a mixed lot.) Although I think just as important to consider is that it just doesn't matter what the founders believed really. Separation of Church and State has been proven to be the superior system when it comes to human freedom.

I wonder what they would think about the segment of the population that basically worships them and believes that none of what they came up with could possibly be improved upon (all the while simultaneously working to subvert many of the principles they espoused).
