Discussion of supernatural activities

The video of the ghost would have been much more effective had they used even moderately convincing actors to sound shocked.

If they happen outside the laws of nature, how in the hell can you even be aware of their existence?

If science can't examine it, I see no reason to believe you can.

What we call supernatural is basically something that cannot be explained using natural logic.
Ghosts, wizards, other dimensions, gods, fairies, etc.

All these things may exist, but until we, as humans with our 5 senses can prove it, human logic says they don't.

Tell that to a succubus when she's doing the Texas Tongue Twizzler on ya.

THEN, you'll believe.

I've always preferred to suppose that everything is natural, even those parts for which we have no adequate explanation. My naive assumption was always that the "natural world" was not a reference to that which we could explain but to the universe as a whole. Whatever the universe is doing is natural for it. So there is no need for a such a category as "supernatural"

But since we're on a thread dedicated to discussing the supernatural, I have another suggestion. Perhaps everything is supernatural but we fool ourselves into thinking some phenomenon have 'natural' causes. So maybe all cause-and-effect are epiphenomenal. At any moment these long strings of coincidence may finally come to an end, revealing the brute fact of our underlying chaotic condition. Could be .. at least if you're a whack job.

If everything's supernatural, wouldn't that be natural for the universe? Tongue

RE: Discussion of supernatural activities
I am a secular nonbeliever in the supernatural in all forms. I am adult, well-educated, widely-read, and professional, an engineer. Coworkers consider me the most erudite among them (not a high bar among engineers). However events have occured in my house that I cannot explain. I am not making this up.
We had three sons. Tragically, the oldest was killed two days before he would have turned seven. We were (and are) devastated.
A few months after his death, my wife was in the living room and saw a small smiling boy dressed in white skipping past her down the hall. A minute later our second son came out from the kitchen and told my wife that he had seen a small boy in white skipping away from him down the hall. They saw the apparition from two sides, from two rooms not connected. My wife did not prompt my son. They both described the same thing.
Shortly afterwards our youngest son opened his bedroom door and saw a young boy dressed in white sitting on his bed. Frightened, he turned and called my wife. When he looked back, the apparition was gone. When my wife felt the spot on the bed where it had been, the bed was warm.
These were not hallucinations. They were seen (or felt) by more than one, independently. I have no idea what they were. Does anyone else?
