This one?

Yeah, that looks like a party!!

I'd got one of these already.

It is, in my brothers words, "a bit gay" but hey, at least anyone I shoot isn't going to be picking pellets out of their cheek Wink.

Was thinking of getting one of these as a sidearm

But given what you said about FPS and that it would be for close quarters I may reconsider.

RE: Airsoft
That pistol would be okay speed wise. Probably not too accurate, gas powered airsoft guns are notoriously inconsistent with accuracy. Same with the AK. Both are around the mid 200's for FPS. I imagine they will perform okay at around 10-15 meters with the pistol and maybe around 20 meters for the AK if you have a good one. Low price guns are a bit hit and miss when it comes to quality.

I've not seen an off the shelf SRC gen3 but used the rental ones at my local site. You might be pretty dramatically outdone with accuracy and range by your brother. If its CQB and you don't mind a little pain you could still compete with a little luck and some trickery.

For some broad advice I would tend to avoid anything between like £30 and £100. In the £20-30 range you have decent springers for messing around. Most sub £100 AEG's can be outdone by a £30 springer. The only advantage you get is fire rate which unless its a 20v20 battle you don't need 100 bb's in the air. You can get some fairly decent gas pistols for £80, same thing lower than that. You would be surprised how close the performance of a £20 spring pistol and a £60 gas pistol can be.

I'll put a list of what I'd get for different things:
up to 20m range:
Spring powered shotgun (£20) you could hit people at 30m with some luck.

up to 45m range:
Franchi SAS 12 (£54. £64 including 2tone)

up to 50m-60m no mercy, everyone not behind a wall better get to one quickly range:
G&G Combat Machine (£124 including 2tone)

That's Only about 2 hours away from me!

Tell me, do they have foxholes? Because I understand I'm not allowed in them any more!

There is indeed an area with bunkers and some fox holes.
If you fancy an evening session sometime I could be tempted to join you.
I haven't been for a while. I've been running more seriously and I'm learning java which are both eating into my free time. Also game of thrones.

Ah Game of thrones. Time well wasted.

Bit far for an evening but good to know there official places to go.

Presumably you're at a disadvantage in the bunker areas...

It's the same place I go, great fun if you have the opportunity to go. You spend pretty much the entire day playing with an hour for a bbq lunch. Close to 6 hours of mostly uninterrupted attack and defend on Sundays. Not very expensive either, £25 if you bring your own gear, £48 if you need a gun and camo gear.

Yes and no. [Image: ejyresyn.jpg]

I get what you're saying though, I can't stand paintball hoppers.

Airsoft is also more accessible to play: you don't have to drive to a field, whereas it's a felony in many areas to discharge a paintball marker within city limits in a non-designated area.
