How to Train your Dragon 2
June 20, 2014 at 8:11 pm
Has anyone made a thread about this yet? It came out this past weekend, June 13th, and it was epic! I'd like to know if anyone has seen it so we can talk about it. I'd like to discuss things that may spoil the movie for people who haven't seen it, so if you haven't seen it and want to see it, maybe avoid posts that may contain spoilers.

You know I really expected this thread to go farther. was there some other thread on this movie that I missed? Is this movie not as popular with Atheist Forum members as I had hoped? These questions burn in my heart.

I'll wait for the bluray... going to the cinema with all kids makes it a bit more expensive than the bluray.

Just haven't been to the theater to see it yet; moving, then birthdays, then the 4th, and next weekend have plans Friday night and Saturday all day...
I'd like to, I just haven't gotten to it yet.
I adore Toothless, though. If he's representative of all dragons (and why wouldn't he be?!? ) I want one just like him.

I haven't seen either of them (nothing against them, just not high on me list), but I DO recall someone on this board predicting that the film would tank due to a passing mention that one of the characters was gay.
Last I looked, the film was making great walloping wads of cash.

IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME! At least as good as the original, maybe better.
As I admitted in thread, i spent the second half of the film scrubbing the tears off my cheeks (same in the first one as well), not because the movie's sad, but because it's so overwhelmingly, emotionally powerful (too me at least).
I'm sure the evil empire (Disney) will get the Oscar for best animated film, again. Screwing Dreamworks of the recognition, again. Just like "Toy Story 3" over "How to Train Your Dragon."

I forgot to check if the movie was doing well Though in its defense, you most likely wouldn't get the idea that Gobber's one other reason for not having a wife is because he's gay, just from watching the movie.

(This post was last modified: July 7, 2014 at 9:16 pm by Ravenshire.)
Budget: $145,000,000 (estimated)
Opening Weekend: $49,451,322 (USA) (13 June 2014)
Gross: $140,215,452 (USA) (4 July 2014)

I've seen the first one many, many times (lost count honestly) and the second only once (so far) but I never considered for a moment that Gobber might be gay.
I need to go see it again and cannot wait for it to come to blu-ray.

It's kind of hard to tell which way anyone swings, unless there's some romantic subplot involved.
If Word of God hadn't said otherwise, I'd just assume it was because he's short, beardless, and smelly. Given that he's Gobber the Belch.
