It seems to me that this guy merely got off because the police evidence retained was somewhat impeached, not because there is any evidence of actual innocence. (Of course I've not researched this any, just implied from the two articles I read.) He could have been guilty as sin and just got off on poor police work, nothing to be happy about. Men died in that bombing.
The Guilford Four wouldn't have been convicted if the peelers hadn't fabricated some of the evidence and suppressed the rest.
Since you, by your own admission, '...have not researched this any...', perhaps it'd be a good idea to shut your gob about it until you have.

Shut your gob, you haven't answered any of the questions. I take it that the reason you didn't answer was because of the fact that even if he didn't do the act himself he was within the conspiracy of IRA.
Their only alibis were weak, unsubstantiated attestations after the interrogations. Think it would have been hard to get an IRA terrorist to vouch for another? Very similar to the trumped up alibis and witness recantations that the world saw in the infamous Troy Davis "cause celebre,"
none of which was worth it's weight in piss.
The assholes were terrorists and based on shoddy police work, they got off on technicalities. They very likely weren't innocent at all, as no policemen would have chosen to arrest known innocents in favor of letting the hated murderers go free. That idea is simply illogical.
It is very sad that these murderers ever saw another free day, sadder still that they weren't executed.
Gerry didn't care that people were hurt and killed in those bombings, and for that I say fuck the bastard and piss on his grave.
