whats your favorite bible verse?

RE: whats your favorite bible verse?
God's punishment to David for murder and adultery.

11 “This is what the LORD says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight.
12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”

Not only do the women not have any say in this, as usual - god chooses to punish adultery, by forcing adultery? Nice. Undecided

1 Timothy 2

Which essentially says that a woman - because of the sin of EVE - must be Silent and Submissive to men - and bear children to be saved

Interesting that women never know that one

Mathew 5:45
"45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."

Don't you dare look for a better deal in Egypt. If you do then I'll kill you.

Jeremiah 42:13-17 (MSG) = “But do not say, ‘We’re not staying around this place,’ refusing to obey the command of your God and saying instead, ‘No! We’re off to Egypt, where things are peaceful—no wars, no attacking armies, plenty of food. We’re going to live there.’ If what’s left of Judah is headed down that road, then listen to God’s Message. This is what God-of-the-Angel-Armies says: ‘If you have determined to go to Egypt and make that your home, then the very wars you fear will catch up with you in Egypt and the starvation you dread will track you down in Egypt. You’ll die there! Every last one of you who is determined to go to Egypt and make it your home will either be killed, starve, or get sick and die. No survivors, not one! No one will escape the doom that I’ll bring upon you.’

"Okay dad you can sacrifice me to your god, but can I have a 2 month orgy before you do?"

When that was over she should have asked for a 2 month extension. This thread is really funny, by the way. NOT!

As a former baptist, I can tell you that the majority of christian women, most certainly did know "that one", all too well. The christian men in our lives, not only made sure of it, but used it as an excuse to dominate. Angry

Let's not forget we are just talking about a very bad story here. She should have run the fuck away from her deluded dad straight away of course.
He just told her he is going to take away her life... That's not a small thing by anyone's standards.

Are there any stories about that in the bible? Human sacrifices who rightfully choose to run away instead of paying the price for someone else's mistakes?

I can't recall any such story but the closest one is probably Esau, who refused to marry his relatives but married foreign women instead. God is still pissed at him for that.
