I will certainly make an effort to find this book, sounds interesting.

Seriously Pip ....

All of Terry Pratchet's works are interesting. Accute observation of the human condition and humans in particular (on a behavioural level) is what makes this Carnegie Award winning man great. And don't even THINK of overlooking his 'Childrens Books'
The Wee Freemen
A Hat Full of Sky
The Winter Smith
Strata
The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents
etc...

'gOOD oMENS' ..is another that comes to mind.
And like Douglas Adams...the world will be poorer for the passing of his mind.

*Can't really praise the man's work highly enough... Paul Kidby's Illustrations are up there with Disney et al

I am an avid reader, but the list of recommended authors is sooo long... I have been nudged towards Pratchet a couple times, but never got around to it. My nose is always in a book though, he would have to get in line behind the new Stephen King I am finishing, then the new Atwood, then a couple more obscure Jose Saramagos. I can appreciate your fondness of his work, and thank you for sharing that with me. I'll be to the bookstore this weekend probably, and will give it a look.

The very first quote was striking as well. Boredom is a peculiar and devastating phenomenon...

Thanks again. Smile

Sounds like dangerously escapist behavior to me...

you should connect with the real world by playing video games. *shiney smile*

"They" wanted me to tell you this. The nanoparticles only hurt for a little while then you don't notice them... *Noticably forced smile*

Don't you know that they want you to read? You're doing exactly what they want you to do by spending your time partaking in your unhealthy hypnotic brain washing. Stephen King is one of their best psychologists, he designs his book to put ideas into your head to distract you from the truth.

Not to mention reading strains your eyes, makes you inactive and pushes you into escapism.

You're free to read if you want but some of us have more important things to do with our time. Waste it if you want being brainwashed, but i refuse to give into such meaningless and dangerous temptation. Reality is enough for me and i don't need to escape it with horror/fantasy novels.

I can only hope that we cross posted because outside of that your post is plagiarism. *icey stare fading quickly to sickly grin* Obviously mushrooms have connected our minds in some kind of way... or maybe programmed us to get ready for the singularity. I missed hail bop but the next time the kool-aide is served I plan to be there. *disingenuous smirk*

When i was typing my response your post wasn't there. Or did they just want me to think that?

Anyway, couldn't resist pointing out the hypocrisy Smile I guess it is true that twisted minds think alike.

If we keep this up they will discover that we share a brain. Now if only I could get my name in green to reflect such things....

We communicate through complex fractal geometry sent digitized through the 26th dimension (care of PR) in the form of Z and W Bosons mate, it wouldn't make sense re-organised with 1 colour Smile

The one color is just a tab that signifies unity, certainly not meant to sum up the totality but pointing in the direction like a good magician with a dove up his ass. *dead goat eyes*
