I'm unlocking the thread.

I'd like to remind everyone this language in our rules:

Quote:Threats and threatening language are strictly forbidden, and any post that is considered a threat will only be exempt from punishment at staff discretion.

Please take note that the above applies to threats of and invitations to self-harm as well as to others. If your intent is rhetorical, then we would ask that you choose your words carefully such that (for example) they could not be confused as an invitation to self-harm. Likewise, intimating that you'd like to harm people, particularly but not limited to members of this forum, is highly frowned upon.

Honestly this morning I was going to post in this thread about how I wished this thread would just shut down because the title really grinds my gears. Bunny prayers answered!

Keep it up, gentlemen. Keep it up. I'd be more than happy to see this one go down to Chinatown.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I'm surprised by the drama I read when I logged in this morning.

WTF?

Personally I was once suspended from a site for suggesting that a guy consider suicide. It was one of these sites so often quoted on FSTDT where little boys get together and whine that girls won't get involved with them or sleep with them.

And this particular little maggot suggested that because of those evil women men should be able to go out and rape as they want with no punishment.

I had to respond.

It wasn't just that I suggested he should consider suicide, it's that I made a whole long post that the problem he has looks at him from the mirror every morning and suggested he get help.

You know what grinds my gears. A person hating me and then refusing to go away. I thought at first, if you really hate me so much that just leave me alone pretend I died. Pretend I never existed. Forget me. Do yourself a favor. Then I realize that this person actually hates me so much that he's willing to go out of his way and put in extra effort just for a chance at causing any type of suffering he can in my life. That kind of hatred perplexes me. I just cannot wrap my mind around it. No matter how hard I try, I cannot understand how someone could be driven to hate someone so much. Especially with such a lack of provocation. Being completely baffled grinds my gears.

That's not hatred.

That's obsession.

When I hate someone that much I will take pains to distance myself from them.

Watch out for this one, Losty.

Heheh. You go girl. I would've done the same thing. Funny how a conversation like that wouldn't fly with us civilized enlightened cretins. Unfortunately humanity as a whole are still just normal cretins.
I simply cannot fathom the brain that thinks it's justified in rape.

People like that would grind my gears too, and you know, sometimes the most civil thing one can think of to say to someone is an invitation to become deceased.

One thing that grinds my gears is that we have to police that kind of speech - if it weren't for deranged people like Mabus who take Internet squabbles into real life, and litigious people that might sue if someone were to follow through on an online threat or suggestion and we didn't do anything about it.

It also grinds my gears further that there isn't a line that can be drawn that's very clear to everyone involved. That truly sucks.

What doesn't grind my gears is that the approach of least intervention appears to have cooled things off. Big Grin

I'm staying safe. I've got my bases covered, but it's just exhausting sometimes.
