Just to chime in.... this happens to me all the time. Click 'Last Page' and I get a 'thread does not exist'. Or is it 'page does not exist'? I forget, it's one of those two.
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

I didn't know about the "Unread Post Link".. so that helps..but the others stated the same of what I was meaning on the "Last Page" button and bringing you to an empty page....
I didn't know if this was happening to anyone else besides me..

It happens quite a lot for me. Just had an idea - do people set a different number of posts per page? I do... mine's set to maximum. So I just wondered if the last page link refers to 'page 5' where for my settings there are only 2 pages... > blank page displayed. Or maybe "last page" is set to a short page length by default?? Just a thought.

The last page link is generated for each user. If you have a 20 post thread and you have 10 posts per page set, the number of pages will be 2. If you have 20 posts per page set, the number of pages will be 1.
The reason you sometimes get a blank page (I reckon) is because the data cache that stores the thread counters for quicker access only gets updated every 15 minutes or so. I've turned this feature off for now, so we'll see what happens. If forum performance starts going down, I'll turn it back on and you may have to live with getting a blank page every now and then :S

Assuming that a person has it set to 10 posts/page:
If there are 10 posts in a thread, the forum creates the second page (this one lacking any posts, and usually telling one that the post/thread does not exist). The 11th post makes the second page function normally again.
If there are 20 posts in a thread, the forum creates a third page (this one lacking any posts, and usually telling one that the post/thread does not exist). The 21st post makes the third page function normally again.
if 30: a fourth page void of posts; once 31: functional fourth page.
if 40: see the pattern here?
So say that there are 10 posts in a thread, and the second page has just been created. No matter how i navigate to it: it will display the error message until there is a post to go in it. One could navigate to it by clicking the # of the nonfunctional page, clicking 'last' (or 'next' when one is on the page preceding the nonfunctional page). (Not limited to these perhaps, but i am very tired :S)
Hence a minor annoyance that the forum has that i'm somewhat astounded you weren't aware of a long time ago :S

I've never noticed that. Then again I don't click "Last page" I click specifically the last number.
