1) We're talking about natural disasters right? A scientific stance is that plate tectonics is inseparable from life on earth. So... Natural disasters are a necessary part of existence.

2) God is blamed for natural disasters as somehow wanting to cause pain and suffering right? Assuming 'God' ...God created nature and the laws of physics.

So to say that God is based on bullshit is akin to saying science (the understanding of the physical laws of the universe) is based on bullshit too.

I think you're at dual purposes here Zen. God created the 'unthinking' natural forces. That's the way they work and that's what sustains life.

God couldn't then intervene for your reasoning because that would be saying that natural laws are wrong. Science deals with it. So must you. From our puny perspective we see identical beings suffering. In the greater scheme of things this is how this existence works.Every way you think about it (to me) leads to the same conclusion: natural forces just are, and that's 'good'.

If a "Creator"(and as an agnostic this is still debatable) has set the initial conditions for the

game that we call the universe it could not then intervene in that game. Otherwise what's the point?

However if what you are saying is correct( And I am prepared to entertain such a concept) then it rules

out the God of the bible entirely. Since he spends pretty much the whole book intervening in the affairs

of men.
