Absolutely

FFS give me a chance!

Looks ok to me TW.

@ Arividerchi: that's because the ideas are new to you. Those people aren't really informed about religion... they're just answering questions badly.

Well, in all honesty and not to be rude, considering my views on Atheism and Religion, no, I would not.

Then how can you ever challenge your perspective?

RE: Christian motivations for joining AF
First, I have considered myself 'Atheist' before, and have since moved on to a differen tview-point. From this view-point, I have come to better understand Atheism in a new light, and see certain of it's characteristics which I do not believe I could ever truly adhere to without lying to myself.

I joined here to further understand Atheism and Atheists since, no longer being one of them, I cannot say what it is like to be one completely. Ironically, the more I understand it, the less I understand why anyone would want to be it.* Tongue

Simply put, I have faith in my own perspective because I have overcome obstacles in the past which have led me to a better understanding of my own view-point.

*If you care, I'll soon be posting two topis, one of which will be entitled "The Nature of Atheism." Hopefully that will shed some light on my posts here.

Well if your post in the topic "The Nature of Atheism." is the line "Atheism is not believing in any gods" then you will be spot on. Anything else has nothing to do with atheism at all.

Haha, we shall see what you make of my thoughts on the subject! I hope for the topic to appear tonight, but I've got quite a deal to attend to first, so it may not be so until around lunchtime tomorrow.

He spells "atheism" / "atheist" with a capital letter leo, and he frequently argues from both ignorance and personal incredulity. I haven't got high hopes for him.
