Forced loyalty oaths are fascism.

I am not against oaths, rental contracts are an oath, a promise to pay rent on time. And just like rental contracts, you are allowed to leave that contract without fear of retribution. I am however against force loyalty oaths, just like no one can force you to rent an apartment.

I'm glad the school apologized to the student for the teacher's conduct, but it never should have come to that. How the fuck does one get through grade school -- let alone college, as this teacher must have -- without an inkling of what the 1st Amendment is about?

What if we forced people to swear oaths with breakfast? There'd be some authoritarian asshole standing there shouting "EAT YOUR OATH MEAL!!!"
