The Newly Departed thread: announcements (departures)
RE: The Newly Departed thread: announcements (departures)
Well now that he's gone, lets not keep giving him any more attention. It was bad enough while he was here. Yanno?

Ummmm I can't tell if he's mad or if he's happy? Tongue
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I'm sad to see Expired go. He probably needed to be banned for his own reasons, but even as ornery as he was, I liked him. I especially like ornery people, tbh. *Waves at Expired* Hope whatever's up with you gets better.

That video just reminds me of this:

What rules did EP break that got him banned? What does it mean to "blank" your own post?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I just got done talking to CM and with her permission, I am giving you all an update.

She's been really busy with work. She currently has bronchitis. She's off to dinner right now. Once work settles down, she hopes to return to the forum.

He wrote some lengthy posts, people responded to them, then he went back and replaced his posts with the word "snip".

Its against the rules because it disrupts the flow of the discussion. Editing posts is a privilege reserved for correcting errors, not removing what you've said.

By the way, you can't get banned just for doing that. This was just the latest in a long run in with the staff and we'd had enough. You can only give a person so many chances.

He was on his last straw (long list of recurrent rule breaking, which was steadily getting worse) and chose to disrupt the forum as part of yet another rule breaking tear.

He chose poorly.

Heh, Tiberius had the same idea and responded faster.
