Cheesus Crust, is this still going?
Some insensitive things have been said, and I ask the people who said them to own up. Not necessarily apologise, though that would be nice.
CL, I ask that you not leave us on the bsasis of insensitive remarks made by a couple of members. Remember, we have an ignore function.

That makes the usually incorrect assumption that we have immediately dismissed your position. We haven't. You aren't the first person to propose a religious discussion in most of our lives. We've had these discussions, and most of us gave them plenty of thought before dismissing them. We dismiss them when you say them because we've already been there, thought that, said that, heard that, etc. You take it as being immediately dismissed, and that is unfair. The longest threads here are atheists talking to theists about their beliefs. They go on and on and on. These people waste hours of their lives so people like you (for lack of a less forceful phrase, but with all respect) can ignore the efforts they've put in and single out only the people who've had enough on the topic. As for myself, I can't be bothered to discuss it anymore. That's not to say I've never discussed it or considered it. I just think, with a buttload of evidence, that your stance is wildly incorrect. There is no God. Would you prefer me to hop in those threads and tell you that all the time or just ignore those threads?
That is fine. I didn't mean to offend or insinuate that yall haven't already thought of and considered it in the past. I was speaking purely from my personal experience of coming here with the intent of discussion and mutual exchange of ideas and being met with mostly brick walls. Which is true, and is also fine. I'm not saying anything about what yall have or have not considered in the past. I was asked for an explanation of why I decided to leave, and I gave it.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Well, good.
Now we just need to settle this like adults, don't we?

No seriously, in the few months I've been here this is the first Big Atheist Forums Flare Up.
What usually happens? Do you all go back to being BFFs or does the ignore button come out in full force and completely change the dynamics. Much anticipation. Ciao.
Honestly for me I hold a grudge against the ones that were upsetting me for awhile then I let it go and start talking to them again. I've been upset with Kit in the past and I don't doubt I will be again but things will calm down. I just wanted to apologize before dropping the subject.
One time Khem made fun of Texas and I went ballistic lol. It wasn't even that bad but I held a grudge against him for so long after that... now I find it childish and funny but at the time he was the worst person ever.

CL... Biblically speaking, the tree of life has compassion for the tree of envy and not vice versa. Not saying Atheists are from tree of envy, from my experience a lot here are not, but some loud mouths here definitely are. And your good looks didn't help in that regard.
Have patience, come back, and continue to try to show people your path.

Sure. I just mean that the brick wall isn't necessarily dismissive. It's just been around the block. Theists come here and have the same discussions you have, and have been doing it for like a decade. Some of us have been here that long or just about. We've had those conversations, so we've already explored the facts on the subject. They come up short every time, so why do it again and again? It's boring. Do you not dismiss atheism? Do you see our position as a possibility? I doubt it.

Fair enough. Again, I wasn't trying to insult. Just explaining why this isn't the place for me.
