The Newly Departed thread: announcements (departures)

I'm going to go count how many staff members predicted that these folks would leave anyway, in spite of our current efforts. Bye.

Neo once told me in a thread that, from God's perspective, it was "My way or the highway." I guess they're just doing what Jesus would do.

Didn't he light a fig tree on fire or something because it wasn't in season? Was that what this whole thing was?

I will be lurking. I'm not leaving but I won't be posting until I see something change.

So yeah basically this lol
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.

Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.

Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.

Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

Hmm...there was already a solution in place, but then it hardly got off to a start before it was trashed. The forum lost some long time members here. No point in you getting upset. You were one of those who voiced the loudest opposition to it.

It’s strange to see all of these departures, since I paid no attention to the drama leading up to them. I’m sorry to see that many heading for the exits.

I love how in A Theist's terms a solution is simply what he wants, regardless of whether said "solution" is in fact a solution or not. Pretty much confirming a lot of what I have suspected.

Typical of Trumptards, Jorm.  They live in their own little bubble and everything else is Fake News.

And they can't see the irony that the WLB is the biggest phony fuck in the country.

Even with some of us leaving, I think there is still merit in talking periodically about which direction you (general you) want the forums to go, or whether it should stay the same... which is fine too. I wouldn't call it a waste of time. It is a good thing either way, imho.

Other than that, I hope I'm not making anyone mad or offending anyone again by choosing to not post anymore. As I said, I have no hard feelings, am grateful for my time here, and plan on keeping in touch with the friends I've made. I don't think the choice to no longer participate in an online forum should be held against anyone, or that anyone should be made out to feel bad about it. No one is doing anything wrong by choosing to no longer participate in a forum.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Never said I was holding anything against anyone or getting upset. I'm amused by how easily predictable the situation was.

A Theist, there were a number of reasons staff and many members didn't like the subforum. Those kinks are being worked out while we wait for the forum at large to provide suggestions, not just a select 6 or 7 exiled members. If anyone doesn't have the patience to wait for that, it was never their intention to stay.
