What I hate the most is the kneejerk reaction to our blasphemy. It is to the atheist no different than going to a bad movie or reading a very bad book.

There simply is no logic in claiming a being who they cannot deny has absolute final say. That is not the morality humans who value cooperation and consent.

The reason these gods of Abraham were written as such were because of the false perception of your power and success as being from a divine being. And back then even in polytheism your different classes were ruled by royalty, kings, dictators. Thus the gods reflected the cultures of their time.

'Fixing' the Bible is an old, old pastime that started with the Christians, who took the Jews' holy book, changed its order, and had the gall to declare it the Old Testament. Since then, they have shamelessly cherry picked which passages they choose to acknowledge and follow (thanks to a scattered handful of NT verses that they think gives them license to do so), have 'found' hundreds of bogus 'prophesies' of Jesus despite the Jews' repeated protests that Christians misunderstand or manipulate those passages, and have wiped their asses with the rest. Then, after centuries of Jewish persecution, they emerge as the self-proclaimed friends of the Jews, mostly because the sick fucks think that modern events in Israel are precursors to the Christian fantasy of the end times and the orgy of violence (including the destruction of most Jews) that so many of them can't wait to see started. One needs an ark just to stay afloat on that sea of self-serving bullshit.

"Fixing" any ancient book of myth is merely marketing to stay relevant. Humans would do far better to be intellectually honest by giving up on bad claims. Questioning social norms is why women can now vote and blacks are no longer slaves.
