There's a bunch of Indians over here bitching about the Redskins name. Some guy wrote a funny column about how the team name should be changed to the Foreskins because of all the pricks in Washington.

Wow. The NFL is such shit right now.

But, alas, I continue to watch. And pay $54/month for the NFL Sunday Ticket Max... because I am literally insane.

Do you feel slightly different about that today? I do.

I think that London was hoping that these two franchises didn't end up anywhere near London. There is like 110 years of combined futility right there.

My dad was betting me all these games in London = the NFL trying to move a franchise there... meh. idk.
All I know is the Chiefs play a game there next year (I think).

Probably not anytime in the near future. Just trying to drub up viewership. The NFL Europe experiment failed dramatically.

Adding teams to the NFL right now would probably necessitate going back to the three division system, and adding two teams to each conference, which would probably mean adding two teams to Europe. If they did it, it would be a pretty big deal. LA would get a team, Las Vegas might as well (or Los Angeles might get two a la New York). I'd imagine London would get a team, and Dusseldorf/Hamburg/Berlin would get the other.

If it happened, it would happen because the NFL wants to add a team to LA. If a team moves to LA (like San Diego or Jacksonville), then I don't see it happening at all.

RE: NFL in London
If they can build enough of an international following, perhaps they can resurrect NFL Europe. Most of the other major sports are popular in other parts of the world, but the primary benefit to USA leagues is the larger talent pool. The NFL would love having a professional international league (or leagues) that provide a larger talent pool AND additional profits directly to them. I doubt that they want to expand their own league overseas because it could make for scheduling and travel nightmares. But the thought of an international "Super Superbowl" in 2025 might make NFL executives jizz in their shorts.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
