Tie a rock around bad logic yes, literal humans no. Frodo along with far too many believers worldwide of all sorts of religions still cant separate rights from ability to demonstrate credibility of any given claim. I am sure Frodo is a nice guy, have yet to run into an ABBA fan that is evil. Still does not make someone right just because I agree with human rights. Rights and claims are two separate subjects.

Brian, I've never known anyone skirt around an issue as deftly as you. Kudos.

Skirt around what issue?.

1 The fact that no religion owns science?
2. The fact no one has evidence for the existence of a god?
3. The fact humans mistake rights with credibility of a claim?

I've yet to see a thread where Frodo notices the rich irony that repeatedly smacks him in the face like an iron dildo. Is it the holy spirit or a powerful sedative that so effectively numbs him to his surroundings? Supposing he's a church goer, it could very well be both.

Ah, I take that back. Apparently he's not aware that there is a church.

We already had one. It didn't play out very well. (Gen 11)

I hope your are being funny, because that description of how we got different languages, has zero to do with how language form, changes, and become distinct over time. Not to mention that in the myth god worried that having a single language made people too powerful, so he put a stop to that which suggests that a common language would be a very good thing for mankind, just not so great for Yahweh and his angelic host.

No, it's not a misunderstanding. I understand perfectly that you believe without demonstrative evidence. I just find believing without evidence irrational and stupid.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

I don't lack evidence. I just lack that evidence. My evidence resides in the realm of intellect. I find it odd that you think what you need your brain to deduce, you find irrational. Yet what you don't need your brain to deduce, you find rational. I suspect we'd have to go a long way back in evolutionary history to find an ape with as limited capabilities as yourself.

1. That's what I'm talking about. Redirecting the problem to a minority misunderstanding
2. Repeatable evidence is illogical - you will ignore this as you always do. Evidence there is, nonetheless.
3. What rights? What claim? See #2. I would hope you respect my right to believe what I rationalise to be true, even if you don't believe the same, rationalising what you believe to be true. I claim to believe in God, as do all other theists. Here's your other blind spot: we don't claim that God exists. We claim belief. Nobody can know.

I don't demand rights. You are at liberty to grant or deny them to me. I will oppose you if you limit my freedom. I grant you your rights, for without those rights you wouldn't be free to believe anything.

I'm with you on limiting religious intrusion on your rights, as I believe that makes religion impotent.

Frodo, you have a belief yourself, it isn't a minority, the majority of the world hold's some sort of god belief.

You certainly can argue that their are believers that accept science but treat it as separate, but that is a dodge to avoid your own self introspection in examining your own claims.

You can treat god belief separately from science all you wish, but that still does not change that fact that even you have no evidence for your claims anymore than a believer that does try to use science to prop up their claims.

No misunderstanding at all. There is no evidence for any god, not yours not any. There are only humans that make up gods and like the idea of a god.

How is it a dodge to treat science and religion as separate subjects? Please explain yourself. This is a gross misunderstanding of religious endeavour. That is all.

Well what a surprise: no one has any proof. And like the religiously Ill informed, you likewise insist upon impossible evidence. Maybe you deserve each other.
