So, IDScience, you tell me you have 1 million dollars in your pocket.

I say I don`t believe you cause you can`t show me, and your pocket is small, what you claim simply does not make sense. Then 10 other people tell you the same thing.

But you put us in a group of believers, because we don`t believe in 1milliondollar-IDScience, and we might just be irrational, because we can never proove you don`t have that money in your pocket. Even if we don`t give a fuck.

You really have to be a moron in order to be religious, there`s no other way.

The problem with trivial analogies is that they're trivial to disprove: e.g. I can simply hit him with a knock-out punch and look in his pockets for myself.

A better analogy would be that he's claiming that he has 1 million invisible dollars which reside in another dimension and although they can't be used as currency, they are the source from which all other currency springs.

The correct response to such claims is "Get the fuck outta here!".

That is exactly the point here. IDScience is grouping rational people into a group of believers in something.

Not believing in the tooth fairy doesn`t make you a believer or an anti-toothfairy. And at the same time, you couldn`t give a fuck about the probability of something so stupid.

I think I`m speaking for every rational person here by saying that we give the tooth fairy and the bible god the same probability of existing; practically zero.

The rest is mental masturbation, something the christians are very fond of.

I agree. In fact, I think the tooth fairy is more likely than the christian god because at least the TF does not logically contradict itself.

Atheism is just the same as not believing any other made-up nonsense. Life is too short, and there are too many real things to worry about. Why assess the probability of anything that could conceivably exist but which apparently has no bearing on reality even if it does.

Hmmm. Yeah, even if I somehow wanted to "become" a believer, I would have to use some pretty serious physical and medicinal measures on myself to accomplish that.
