God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

But just as I don't want to be held accountable for what Americans did in the 1800s I have a certain sympathy for Christians being held accountable for racism and slavery justified by the Bible. However, the following are currently happening: 1) pushing creationism in the schools; 2) attempting to prohibit early term abortions; 3) meddling in international affairs for the purpose of hastening the end times; 4) confusing being treated equally with oppression; 5) sexism; 6) abstinence programs that lead to higher rates of teen pregnancies. Not all Christians espouse any or all of these, but just here in these forums we have a fair representation of all of them.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
Things which irritate me the most about the christian-type schizophrenics are:
1. No taxes just because they`re recognized schizophrenics. 2. Creationism agenda in schools. Also, not allowing their children to think for themselves, mentally torturing them with horrorr stories about hell and punishment. Seriously, fuck them. 3. Soft punishments for parents who allow their children to die, taking them off their medicine and "curing them" by prayer only. 4. Lobbying against abortion.
If it`s true that our species is alone in the universe then I`d have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

That's dishonest dickish behavior. Both of you know what verses we refer to, but you are hoping we waste our time and effort hunting them up. Since you know the verses that are being referred to, cough them up and tell us your Stretch Armstrong reason why the verses don't say what they say. It's called discussion, and if you don't want to engage the actual ideas of the post, then quit being rude posturing asses about it. Drich's strategy of dragging the discussion into an alleyway by dishonestly feigning ignorance is disgusting. If we demanded a definition and citation of every thing you two said about the bible even though we didn't have any question about it, we too would be trying to exhaust and drag you two down. We don't do that. So unless you two really have no idea what we're referring to, golden rule us, OK??

None of the faults I listed were based on anyone's interpretation of your special book, just what I observe its results to be among its practitioners. That's my witness.
For me, the single most repugnant (and most common) act that a christian adult can do is forcibly indoctrinate a child, whether it be their own or someone elses.
We've all seen the atrocities of the film Jesus camp and those images of terrified kids being psychologically tormented still haunts me. To turn a childs life away from being a curious, inventive and fun exploration and replace it with a dark, fear based living nightmare that prohibits questioning makes me angry like nothing else. I genuinly feel sorry for Godschild, Drich et al because they are the end product of this abuse. They will, of course deny this ever happened to them and that they are truly happy but it's plainly obvious reading their posts how much they are victims of a worldwide cult.
how about cannibalism? When christians participate in communion most sects believe "this is my body and blood shed for you" read the gospels for a point of reference.
Even when I was a faithful christian, honestly, this freaked me out. I think it`s exactly the same with indoctrinated people in North Korea. They are happy, in their own ignorant way.
