The universe exist for billions of years.
Without balance it would have gone ages ago.
Suppose you run a business.
You know how to run it.
After sometime you go away and the workforce take over.
The vision that you had is gone and now different people try to run the business according to their wishes.
The clashes between different people start and after sometime the business can no longer operate in a proper way as everybody for himself.
The whole business will collapse.
The same thing would happen in a universe without a controller with a proper vision.
Quote:Never said or implied you were an idiot. I said you prioritize your happiness over truth.
Happiness rarely come when you do the wrong thing.
Mr big after robbing and getting a train full of cash end up in the rotting scrap.
Happiness build upon crime last only for a short time.
When instead your happiness last and last it means that you do the correct thing and the truth is part of this happiness so they go hand in hand.
Quote:You are talking about supernatural stuff like god, spirits, etc... That is still a religion. It might not be an organized religion, but still a religion.
Both spirituality and religion believe in God but while spirituality is internal progress religions are concern about external worship which can not lead to any progress.
As i thought you haven't got a clue about the difference among the two.
Suppose we two have a car.
I use the car to go to work while you (hypothetically) use the car to go to rob a bank.
Both of us believe in the value of our cars but the reasons are different.

When an hypothetical God create an universe with his imagination that vision is in a way his slave so it is also correct what you say.
But the news are not that bad as they seems.
As soon as you realize that you (hypothetically) come from the mind of the supreme consciousness then you also realize that you are a transformation of God into what you think you are now.
If you use your brains properly you also would realize that the vision can RE-ENTER his mind and you are him.
Uh, no, I'm not so narcissistic as to think of myself as some God.
There is a small thing that you don't take in consideration.
The force that drive you to learn more and more is the same force that drive you to go back to where you came from.
Obviously if you try to put a brake to where this force may take you you only delay the time of your return but eventually willing or unwilling this force will take you back where you really belong.
There is no escape.
When you think about (suppose) an elephant this vision come from your mind and to your mind sooner or later will inevitably will have to go back.
At the same time you have no choice but going back to where you come from.

God could say..............do you seriously think that the universe can exist and be alive for billions of years just by pure chances and without anyone that make sure that everything works ok?
Quote:Option 2) presumes that the reason one doesn't believe in a god is because they were too lazy to look into it at all, when it's quite the opposite in most cases. Typically, it's the ongoing search for answers based in reality that causes one to conclude the Judeo-christian (and other deities) god just simply isn't there. Many atheists, such as myself, were very diligent Christians. Somewhere along the way, we began to ask questions to quell an uneasiness in our understanding that religion just couldn't resolve.
It is natural that religions can not solve that problem.
They look externally when in fact God is within.
I point the finger there (within) but you look at my finger and get lost and confused. (an hypothetical God)
Quote:The issue I have with choice 3) is that, again, it presumes a falsity. It assumes atheists don't believe in God because they actively refuse to (the rebellion mentality). It's based on reasoning most atheists just simply don't adhere to. We don't refuse to believe in God, we just don't see any reason to. If it requires faith (to believe in the face of absent evidence) to be believed, it's probably not based in reality.
First of all you should understand what reality is.
Is this universe a reality?
Can something moving and changing all the time be a reality?
