The person is what matters. Respect is earned as well as disrespect.
If someone wants to discuss his religious beliefs, fine, I have no problem with that. If someone's only out to preach, then we have a problem. Also I have a very hard time respecting those, who refuse to educate themselves. I'm not asking them to give up their faith, but I do ask them to show some willingness to accept that not everything in the bible or any other holy book has happened literally and that science isn't just a conspiracy out to get them.

Thanks to LastPoet for the fix. Maybe everyone interested has had their say. Apologies to those who were offended by the earlier OP. I didn't realize that referring to people's obvious and acknowledged apologetics would be deemed insulting. Or perhaps it was the way I characterized someone's pet theory. Oh well, bury the hatchet.
