Garden of Eden was a setup...

Please elaborate. It's not much of a test if God knows the outcome. Also, why punish them for it?

So how is it a test, if the only person who knew it's a test already knew the answer? The purpose of a test is to come to an answer, after all. And why bother with the test? What did Adam and Eve gain from it, since they were the only ones not in the know? To be clear, the knowledge of sin is only needed if sin exists, which it wouldn't if god hadn't created it as part of a test that he already knew the answer to.

The only possible way this "test" would even need to exist is if the test already exists, in the end. Your answer here is totally circular and nonsensical.

I know that is what I said it was a test for Adam and Eve.

Because that wouldn't serve the purpose of the narrative. Literal reading of Genesis is a relatively recent phenomenon.

God knew the outcome but Adam and Eve didn't. It is just like saying an exam in school is pointless because the teacher knows the answers.

But the very concept that the test deals with would not even exist if the test didn't exist. What it's like is the teacher inventing a subject out of nowhere and then testing his students on this subject, that didn't exist before he wrote the test, and pretending the results of that actually means something.

This ^ However, I'm willing to bet he won't reply to you, and if he does, the argument will be nonsensical.
