Again, I'm neither adressing nor attacking you personally.

Don't worry. I don't take things personally in this forum. You make a good point. As a christian, I can't just hide my eyes from God's actions in the old testament, which I perceive as terrible, but not wrong. If you don't accept that God is more knowing than you are, then you won't be able to accept that there was a good reason for his actions in bringing the nation of Israel to prominence. The nations which he destroyed were all out to destroy Israel, from which the savior was to come. God is the judge and the one who carries out his sentences, as well as the loving creator and savior. The sentence in these cases, however, is not death forever as one might assume, including the babies. Because he is loving, as well as just, he paid the full price so that they can have eternal life. That's the message of the bible.

Okay. Since we're critiquing God, tell me this. First of all, we are not allowed to kill babies and it would be a grievous sin for us to do so. Are those babies who were killed happy now or not? Would they have been happier to live longer lives on earth than they are now?

It's impossible to tell if dead babies are happy now or not. Generally anyone would be happier to live longer lives, which is why killing people is wrong.

We're discussing the God of the bible here. Jesus told his disciples to let the children come to him and stated "the kingdom of heaven belongs to such a these." According to the bible these babies are happy forever after. I wonder if you asked them now, if they would want to go back and live on earth.

Did they get into heaven if they weren't brought to Jesus and baptized first?

Doesn't that go against the idea of Jesus being the only way into heaven? If they all get into heaven, what motivation do you have to not go around killing the babies of all non believers? That was the general idea in the old testament, when Yahweh killied or ordered the killing of babies.
