Garden of Eden was a setup...
RE: Garden of Eden was a setup...
Yes, we've found out the locations are true. Egypt existed. They most likely didn't have a bunch of Isrealite slaves that escaped, and no evidence has come up of a bunch of nomads wandering the desert for forty years. Plus the bible goes on describing a volcano without actually calling it a volcano. Just that "god" or "heaven" involved a lot of smoke and rumbling.

We don't have evidence of a global flood. From what I've heard, Japan doesn't even have flood stories.

Jesus, the cross, God and the Holly Spirit are real. His Word is real, I'll prove it.....go to the book store and order or buy a Bible....it exists and it is the infallible Word of the one True God.

Already got three of those, though nowadays it's easier to look up particular passages on the web than looking for them in the actual book.

Don't you think, we've read the bible?

As for it's archeological evidence - care to point out even one discovery based on the bible? There's more to be found following the Iliad.

for a few examples heres a website

One I like is the seat of Pontius Pilot, whom until recently most, questioned his existence.

What archeology will never discover is Jesus' body

There's a good chance if Jesus existed, he was thrown into a pit with the other criminals. That might explain why your holy symbol is a torture device, instead of an empty tomb.

Pontius Pilate is a well documented historical figure. We even know his level of corruption from Roman records. Tacitus talks about him in his Annales.

And please don't come up with christian answers as a source. All they mention aren't actually archeological discoveries but historical facts that made it into the bible but are mentioned in other sources as well.

I really don't know everything and don't spend my life questioning everything in the Bible.
What can I say, I'm stumped, but not one bit less a believer.

It's a simple answer, and by your faith -- the one I used to share-- it has one and only one answer, of one and only one word.

Answer the question. Who created everything, including cancer, AIDS, and even death itself? Who created Satan? Who created evil?

Who created everything?

Sixty seconds -- go.

OK, one at a time....
Evil does not exist, at least not onto itslef. Evil is an absence of Good.
I've seen a story about Einstein, which snopes has deemed to be false...the Einstein part anyway but it get the point on evil across.

Cold is the absence of heat
dark is the absence of light
evil is the absence of good

lets go out on a limb on this one....
disease is the absence of health
and finally death is the absence of life

God created Lucifer the most beautiful of His angelic creation (that's an easy one) and Lucifer rebelled against God and was separated from God and we now know him as Satan

And obviously one of his stupider creations, since he should have known beforehand that rebellion is pointless given the described nature of god.

But given that same description, god shouldn't have created him in the first place, since he knew all along that Lucifer would rebell.

So how's that working?

It's all playing out according to Gods plan, whether you want to admit it or not. Or whether you like it or not.

Yahweh's plans suck. At least if we assume he wants everyone to get into heaven, and only a minority are, mostly because they don't believe he exists.

Not at all the same.

Cold, heat, dark and light have pretty straight forward definitions.

Good and evil, however, are relative to the society or culture relating those terms.

There didn't need to be an absence of good. Everything could have been good.

Give this God the accountability he deserves.

Just because a few historical things in the bible happen to be vaguely true, that doesn't mean the rest of it is true. Spider-Man is from New York right? And New York exists? So the story has it right? So spider man exists.

If you make ridiculous standards, you have to live with accepting consequences like that. Unless of course you use special pleading, that your case is just somehow different.

I'm very familiar with the bible and it's the stupidest, sickest, most ridiculous load of made up crap I've ever heard. It's caused more confusion and bloodshed than any other book. Sorry but it's shit. It is not magic.
