I really think we need to get a grip on the police force. Proper training on how to actually diffuse a situation, less military grade gear, and cameras for every single one of them.

It might keep the overzealous cops in check, while providing supporting evidence when extreme force is legitimately needed. 2nd one, I'm iffy on. The only thing I see is that today the 'typical' blue uniformed cop who pulls out a pistol, when the 'bad guy' pulls out an Uzi... it's like, no contest.  Maybe seeing a cop in full body armor and a shield will give some of those guys a second thought.

No. We shouldn't be arming every cop to the teeth, just in case the other guy has an automatic weapon. You know when you take the job that you're putting your life on the line. If you're not willing to take that risk, you shouldn't be trying to get a job as a cop.

Taking away fire power from all police, like in the cases where it is legitimately needed, is like saying we should get rid of cars because many accidents are caused by drunk drivers.
