RE: Hello
My current views are so fluid and ever changing that I don't fit comfortably in any labeled 'camp'. I'd say that 'Maybe God, Maybe Not' pretty much sums up my current view.

You seem to be an intelligent lot and that is refreshing. If there is one thing I can't stand it's truly ignorant numbnut atheists. When atheists act like moronic idiots I find it very disappointing. I want my views to be intelligently challenged. Ignorant atheists are a drag!

As for religious forums. Ha!! I tend to get banned from them so quickly that I don't even bother going to them anymore. New Agers don't like me because I am honest in what I believe and just say so! They prefer 'nicey nice' hypocrisy to bold direct honesty. You can be honest with them, but only if you're always sweet, nice and encouraging. Sorry, but I don't always feel sweet, nice and encouraging!

I am who I am and I like being honest in forums like this. I often have to stifle how I truly feel about the careless idiots I have to deal with in my physical world. So, when I post on the Internet I like to be boldly honest, even if that means I get banned by a forum administration who treasures hypocrisy over honesty.

RE: Hello
See, that's the thing. We have no reason to believe God said anything, or jesus said anything attributed to him, if either of them existed in the first place. All we have is a tatty millionth-hand edited to fuck pile of crap book that people have mistaken for a God. Anyone can write stuff down, it's not hard. Doesn't make it true. A lot of people really struggle with that last bit, as you'll come to see on this forum :p

RE: Hello
Best advice I can give to you is to get an armor against words, because you see, words break your bones Angel

RE: Hello
Sure, I admire your openness. You probably got banned on religious forums for speaking more truth than they can handle. I hope we'll all prove to be adequate debating sparring partners Wink

Sorry if you thought I was trying to force a label on you, I wasnt. Maybe your religious views should be "wibbly"!

Where have you run into these atheists you don't like, and what pissed you off about them in particular?

RE: Hello
Okay then. Now that the introductions are over how about we establish something before we continue:

There are no repeatable, observable, verifiable scientific experiments that can prove any Biblical miraculous wonder every happened, correct?

Science is famous for backing up it's beliefs with repeatable, observable, verifiable scientific experiments that anyone can do for themselves and get the same results, right? Science does not base any of it's beliefs on "blind faith". From an atheist scientific perspective, only fools base their beliefs on 'blind faith' instead of on the proverbial 'rock of reality' of objective, repeatable, observable scientific experiments that verify whatever science holds as true.

Can we agree that this basic premise is what makes science superior to 'blind faith' religion?

RE: Hello
I would suggest moving that into a proper forum, perhaps by creating a proper thread. You know, step out of the kids pool and diving into the one with the sharks Wink

RE: Hello
Welcome, welcome. Smile

I can certainly empathise with your views, OP. A worthy but often difficult path to tread, no doubt.

RE: Hello
Ahah. Blind faith. They always forget that first bit don't they.

Blind, deaf and no-taste-buds faith.
