hi my name is jason and im hear because im wondering what an atheist is. ive always heard atheists were evil and worship the devil but i dunno. why dont you like god? im confused

Why don't you do a little bit of reading?

You should get a much better picture by browsing the threads.

But as an aside, the most simple answer is, an atheist is a non believer. So the devil is equally out of the picture.

Hi Jason,

I take it from your screen name you are a teenager. Congratulations on exploring beyond what you have been told. Because what you have been is not true.

I dont believe in a higher being so I don't believe that satan exists so I do not worship satan. It is not that I hate god, I just don't believe the stories written about it.

I was a christian for most of my life and then I did exactly what you are doing. I questioned people. Not only atheists but religious people as well. Don't limit yourself to christianity! There are MANY other religions that need to be examined as well.

My wish for you is that this is not a home school assignment that you are being fed questions to ask, but rather a genuine thirst for knowledge. If it is the later, keep your mind open and think critical. Ask tough questions and don't be afraid to hear different opinions.
