RE: Best Albums of 2014
I see what you mean. My favourite of the genre is Dark Tranquillity anyways.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I can't stand genre snobs at all to be honest, I'll always be a metal head, but I like some pop, classical, RnB...if it's good, it's good.

I love my Prog, Intronaut, Tool, Oceansize....anything not straight verse>chorus>verse really. But the latest killswitch album....I haven't had that much fun learning songs on the guitar in a long time.

If you guys on the other side of the pond haven't heard of Oceansize, check this song out, difficult to pick the best song off that album, but this song is just amazing, hope you enjoy:

Nice. Oddly, they remind me a bit of the similarly named post metalers "The Ocean" from Berlin, in their more relaxed moments at least. Unfortunately, my favourite tracks from the new album are not online, only very imbalanced live recordings. But who cares that only the drums are audible, it's the best part of the thing anyways Big Grin

Mr K, now you're talking. Precambrian is one of my top 10 metal albums ever. Haven't really listened to their latest album, I liked Anthropocentric, but not a huge fan of the singer.

This is just an incredible track:

Alex, not sure if you've heard of Karnivool? Sound Awake was a work of absolute genius, best track off that album.

Uuuh, nice, very sludgy Smile
I should finally buy Anthropocentric...

I saw them play through Pelagial in one go last year, and it was absolutely awesome. I like the new singer better.

They're an awesome band, but like most, I prefer the earlier stuff. Not many bands sounds as good on their 4th or 5th album as they did in their first.

I saw the greatest British Metal band of all time in Nov, SikTh. Never thought I'd get to see them, but they've reformed, really hoping for a new album.

Hehe, greatest british metal band is a tall order Big Grin
Interesting, didn't know SikTh.

While we're at it, some DEP channelling Mike Patton Smile

But this, not an early work either, from the album before the last one, I still think absolutely brilliant:
