I recommend the first thing you do is atleast be honest to yourself and recognise that you do not have a "lack of belief", rather, you believe there is no God.
What's a theory, YGninja?
Also, new guy, telling others what they believe isn't going to get you far around here.

It was not founded as a christian nation. The only time the constitution mentions religion is to say we shouldn't establish one. The Treaty of Tripoli clearly states this country was not founded as a christian nation.
Yes, evolution is just a theory. This means that while it's a fact that it happens, some details of it are up for debate, and the theory may be revised as new evidence comes in. It is still a fact that it happens.

Being in the constitution or not is largely irrelevant. 99.9% of the population were Christian at the time the country was founded. The entire ethos of the country was Christian. The constitution gives rights to freedom of religion and freedom of belief, but arguably that right in itself is a product of Christianity. You didn't see it anywhere else in the world, but time and again this line of thinking popped up in Christendom.

Yes the majority was christian, but the founders were not trying to set up a christian theocracy in America. They saw what was happening around Europe, with catholics and protestants killing each other over how to worship the same god, and didn't want that here.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Actually it was founded on principles that had been around long before Christianity was even thought of, in one form or another.
And the treat of Tripoli clearly states that the US was not founded as a Christian nation.
Evolution is a SCIENTIFIC theory, meaning it's a fact.
No most atheists don't believe in gods, any gods. Very few claim that those gods don't exist.

Oh wait! It's an intro thread, but it's in the "atheism" subforum, so anything goes, within the rules! Come on back in, everybody!
YG- you didn't answer my question:
What is the definition of a scientific theory?

While technically it's an introduction post it's not in the introductions thread.
Happy to abide by the rules, however.
