Help: jumped on for seeking scientific proof of spiritual healing

Oh yeah. Religion is about control and subduing the masses, no question. But I think the wafer thin levels of religion still left in England show that it's no longer at all necessary for a society to function, if it ever was. Religion is much more like a dictatorship. And morally, I can't get behind that. But of course if someone can get away with it, they may not care about the morality, or have their own weird view about it.

In fairness, some people may well like being subdued and not having to think for themselves.

Most of us do. It's one of our most basic social instincts - submission to parent/leader. It would take hundreds of thousands years to make those instincts disappear and it's very likely that we couldn't form basic social groups - like families - without them. Just like if we bred dogs to be independent - it might prove impossible to continue the process, when the subjects became too disobedient and aggressive to coexist with us.

Sure, religion is not necessary (to say the least) for a civilized society to function and thrive. But we do still need the underlying psychological and social "mechanics".

You're right, yeah. I do often wonder at how society works... how so many people, on the most part, behave in a reasonable manner even given a high level of freedom.

I suppose it comes down to the difference between being dominant, like a natural leader, and being dominating, like a tyrant.

Who cares about scientific proof, if it works it works, if not then it doesn't work, and that can be for you or anyone else, if we didn't think outside of science then nothing would ever be found out that science have proved.

I'm most interested in studying the permanent cure of mental and criminal sickness, that can thus prevent drug and criminal addictions, drug and sexual abuse, eating and cutting disorders, PTSD that gets homicidal/suicidal, etc.

If this were proven scientifically to apply to these areas, then more lives would be saved.

Right now if only the faith-based sector understands how this works, the secular populations aren't getting equal access to knowledge and assistance. Most don't even know the difference between the fraudulent faith healing that is dangerous and deadly (by denying medicine or religious fanatics killing children to get rid of demons and other criminal abuses)
and the natural safe effective methods that work consistently with science and medicine, and can even cure the sick abusive people behind the malpractice in religious cults and ritual abuse.

by using the correct methods to cut the costs of diseases and crime,
more public resources and facilities can be reserved for serving the general population and covering health care services and preventative education,
rather than wasting billions on failed mental health and prison corrections that don't cure the cause of sickness but make people worse.
The cure has been used, but isn't public knowledge unless and until there is formal medical research and replicated studies to establish this.
