I can't even imagine what it's like growing up in an Islamic state, especially for a rationally inclined person. I found being an atheist in a Catholic country almost unbearable - although that's largely because I can't stomach vodka.

Stay safe and good luck finding a new home. And never drink vodka with Eastern Europeans.

We carried a box of 1.5 liter bottles of water in the trucks whenever we went out. I remember drinking an entire bottle in one go and just staring at the empty in amazement. Twenty minutes later, I was reaching for another one!
