Maybe it'll never get to the point in any universe that all books are too hot to touch because of certain limits imposed by nature and rational thinking. I mean, it doesn't make any sense to make all books that exist in a universe too hot to touch. This, essentially my main contention.
The 'thing' about parallel or other universes is it makes the apparently weird set of physical constants, laws, properties of spacetime, and amount of matter in our universe that makes it compatible with life aren't so 'weird' if there are a multitude of attempts, and only the seemingly weird universes generate a life form capable of working out that the laws, constants, etc. etc. of our universe aren't constrained to just the subset of life compatible values.
What are the odds of dribbling paint randomly from above on a horizontal canvas and perfectly duplicating the Mona Lisa, on the first and only attempt ?? Tiny, but not zero. If allowed attempt after attempt for 10^10^10^34 years, you're going to get damn close many, many times. Now imagine the perfected Mona Lisa, contemplating her manner of 'creation'. Which one is more 'logical' ? The randomly getting it right the first time one, or getting it right after quadrillions of quadrillions of attempts ?? (that's either a brilliant analogy, or a turd, haven't decided myself yet ) The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
This makes me wonder. When we assign an extremely low probability to a certain event happening, must it always be because there is a remote possibility to it? Don't we sometimes assign a probability > 0 (even if it's extremely close to 0) because we're not sure if it's actually impossible? If the latter, then not all events that we assign a probability of greater than 0 to must necessarily happen in some universe in an infinite multiverse.
