Rereading the Jurassic Park books by Michael Crichton. After that I plan to read a Biography of Michael Crichton my wife bought me. Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov arrived in the mail a couple days ago. After those I haven't any real plans.

My give a damn broke during the 5th book. If Martin never finishes the series, I won't miss them. Sad too, because I enjoyed them right through the fourth book.

He just keeps throwing the starts to new plot threads in there without finishing the others. It needs to end now.

Preferably with something horrible happening to Ramsey Bolton.

Yep. If he decided to do nothing more than tie up loose ends, it'd take three books to do it.

I've been reading autobiography of Gary Burghoff (Radar from MASH) and there is one really interesting story from it:
"A young actor who appeared in several productions Mom had choreographed fell in love with another member of the cast in the summer of 1961. I have mentioned Mom’s generosity. The young actor was so broke Mom financed his honeymoon. It was years later that I learned that that this impoverished actor was Harrison Ford!"

??? Is there such a book? I mean I checked on the net and could not find it. There is only 19 page kindle on amazon.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

The wife bought it for me because she knows Michael Crichton is my favorite author.  (I didn't know she had bought it until it just showed up one day, I think I did pretty good in the wife department)

Just finished:

The sequel to:

These are the first two books in the Gentlemen Bastards series. Classified by most as Grimdark fantasy and I certainly won't argue. Despite the dark themes, or maybe even because of them, this has been (at least so far) a thoroughly entertaining ride. The storytelling style will keep you on your toes, jumping back and forth through the story's internal timeline. Still, Lynch speaks with a clear, fresh voice and I'm very much looking forward to the next installments, "The Republic of Thieves (now available) and "The Thorn of Emberlain" (forthcoming).

I almost forgot... I read this one in between the two "Gentlemen Bastards" books:

This one is a very religiously themed book, but boy is it not a book serious faith heads would like. Our heroine is a daughter of none other that Lilith, fathered by Lucifer. It's a fun coming of age story from a rather unique point of view. Not necessarily a "must read" but if you enjoy fantasy it's not one you'll want to miss.

Almost done (audio) with the last book of "The Camel Club." A five part political thriller series by David Baldacci. Pretty good stuff.

I'm also winding down on the Septimus Heap books. One book left to go after these last 30 pages or so. Septimus has been a nice fill in for the space left be Harry Potter, and Angie Sage tosses in quite a few homages to that world. She even has a wizard named Bertie Bot. Smile
