Memory

Memory
Some interesting information on memory. To me, it seems that there may be more questions rather than answers in this finding. Research on flatworms and their memory, originally thrown to the pits of pseudoscience, has surfaced again.

Quote:McConnell fed bits of trained flatworms to their untrained brethren. As a result, McConnell claimed, the untrained flatworms performed behaviors that the trained flatworms had previously learned.

So, if I'm reading this right, I need to be there when Hawking dies.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

RE: Memory
I was not expecting to read a story that included Ted Kaczynski, a Simpsons reference, and tadpole tails with functioning eyes. Interesting research.

Also, a sincere thank you is in order. I'm always on the lookout for good writing that is also informative. I had never heard of The Verge before, but will have to add it to my 'Pulse' list.
