Has he asked why?

Basically I went up to her and asked if she knew that recurring 0.9 equals one and I demonstrated it to her having had discovered it a day before. She just said "yeah" and gave me a good grade just for that. So much win.

That's cool! You must do more maths now. More maths! You already mastered an infinite sum of a geometric progression.

Now learn calculus! You'll like it Smile

I have a love-hate relationship with maths. It gives me so much unreasonable joy when I understand it and I love proving stuff using it, but sometimes it just doesn't want to fit in my brain.

Kinda like my Philosophy teacher, when she asked me about souls. 16 I was :'-(

So much win. My nickname become "the philosopher" after that. Still is to my old classmates. Can't believe 18 years have passed since then. Meh, getting old, and so much to do!!! Panic

Lol, I'm 16 and was 15 when I told her about that.

Change your username to philosopher (with the necessary cacti, of course) and then debate professor. Would be fun.

When I first went to London in the Navy, I heard someone say "maths" for the first time. I was like, "maths? Derp its math."

But my logical brain knew immediately that I had been wrong for 21 years. It's not mathematic, it's mathematics. And so now I say maths. Thank you, rest of the world.

I am working on the SI thing. There is absolutely zero reason for 5280 of anything to be one anything. NO REASON!
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Ok guys... Get ready for some awesomeness.
12345679*9*<some digit> = <some digit 9 times>
12345679*9*2=222,222,222
12345679*9*9=999,999,999

And now, the magic:
12345679*12345679*81=12345678987654321
Wink

2/9 is equal to 0.2 repeating
and, brace yourselves, 3/9 is equal to 0.3 repeating

Here is another trick. Did you know that 1/7 in octal is equal to 0.1 repeating?
Also, 1/(7*7) in octal is equal to 0.01234567 repeating.
It's like this pattern is a result of a numbering system.

You forgot to say: deal with it, bitches!
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
