Sometimes it amazes me the lengths people will go through trying to find just the right word to define themselves and others. People are way too complicated for that, frankly. Don't sweat it. It sounds like you're somewhere in the region of agnostic but that's just a ballpark thing. You're Rhonda.

You might want to try reformatting your posts, Rhonda. I've noticed it's very hard to tell what you're actually saying as your words are usually in quote boxes.

I know. I don\'t see any way to place my text outside the quote boxes before I post them and then go back to edit them. There must be a way since you guys are doing it.  Will appreciate enlightenment.

I'm afraid I'm rather useless on the technical stuff, what kind of device are you using? Hopefully one of the more knowledgable mods can chime in to help.

Where is the "logic" in thinking that god gives a shit which song you listen to?

You threw in so much b.s. at the end of that paragraph that I don't know what you meant.  But you brought it up.  So re-phrase it any way you like.   Do spirits or space aliens give a fuck what song you listen to?

Sometimes its hard to put a label on something. What I did when I wasn't sure is surf around the internet... I can't remember the specific site but it broke down all the different labels.. I fit best into "Free-Thinker"... Don't stress on it just take a look around and take time to think and ponder eventually you will find which one fits you.

I don't think I fit squarely into any one category. That may be why I've resisted taking a label for the ten years since I left the Church. But I fit into an atheist website much more than I have ever done socializing with dogmatic religious folks.  Here at least, I don't have to buy a bill of goods.

I notice the other posters are starting their posts after the original quote.  That's what I'll do. No more problemo.

Have you considered "deist?" Essentially, deists believe there is a god or gods but that we don't know much if anything about them.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

As many of you may have noticed, the new server allows you to specify a URL for your own website if you have one. If you do, it puts a button under your posts on the left side to link to it. Check out Rhonda's. This is an impressive lady we have amongst us who has had to overcome a lot of adversity.

RE: Am I an Atheist?
Atheist is not bad. To become a moral/value/praise nihilist is horrible. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't be an atheist without the latter. Deist made me feel intellectual but I became less spiritual as a Deist. It was hard to devote myself to God as a Deist. A book advising us, reminding, and clarifying for us, and guides to follow and teach us, just seemed to make a better lord.

One problem I found as a Deist is that I felt that truth had no help from God and you couldn't really support it but by your opinion. You think this is wrong, you state it. You think this is right, you state it. So what... no people are going to unite on an opinion of a person. Why should they.

It was tough trying to figure out everything for myself. Made me really confused.
