 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I lived in Utah for a mercifully brief period and I had that same thought every time I opened the newspaper which had a whole religion section devoted almost entirely to LDS.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
