My mother absolutely loved him. I'm not into that kind of music, but I admire people that are very prolific in whatever they do. It was my mother's birthday yesterday. I'm glad I wa around her while she was in a good mood.

He was a great musician, with a minimalist style. I seem to recall him saying something like, there is no need to play two notes when one is enough, or some such thing.

Come to think of it, does anyone know of any blues musicians who lived to see 90?
Besides Robert Junior Lockwood, I mean.

Buddy Guy is almost 80 and still touring.

David "Honeyboy" Edwards was something like 96 when he died 2011. Born in 1915, he was known as the last great delta blues man. They made a documentary about him with some great footage. That man had some great stories. Some including Robert Johnson.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."
For context, this is the previous verse:
"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Keith Richards, ok, he's not a Blues musician, but the water bear looks at him and says "Holy fuck, how many mass extinctions have you survived?"

I saw Buddy Guy and Susan Tedeschi open for BB in 1999. Dunno of anyone's aware of this, but King had a tradition at most of his live performances. He would throw handfuls of guitar picks out into the audience - If I hadn't been hammer drunk, I might have caught one. He was a phenomenal talent.
