This is a tribute thread.  Perhaps we can discuss not only the historical accuracy of the NT but also why anyone should give a flying fuck if people from 2000 years ago really believed what they wrote.

I made a post awhile ago and i stated how much of the bible is ripped off of other mythologies and i listed every single mythology and even stated horus and even the epic of gilgamesh.
the bible is just a piece of a fiction that shouldn't be taken literally and this goes with all religious texts.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.

The OP is a good idea.

Even more to the point is what does a book aimed at ancient peasants matter at all in the 21st century.  A pile of farm-based analogies and a lot of silly talk about eternal rewards and punishments.

Thirty wasn't very young back then. I sometimes like to comment that he lived longer than a lot of people back then did, presumably without illness or injury, so dying when he did wasn't all that bad. Just the way he supposedly died.

And the christers won't like the thread topic, and I will note in spite of their visceral objections, we still find little NT gems like Paul reiterating the OT prohibition against women speaking in church/on religion, and we still can't get a straight answer why they (most of 'em anyhow ) know better than God and don't have to observe that stricture now.

Hell, even Shirley Phelps commits this heresy.
 The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
