RE: Decline
We atheists are rendered useless without theists around? Never saw that coming.

There are other subjects to talk about, besides bullshit.

Indeed. The Good Fight can wait until the next harvest, whenever that comes Tongue
It's just nice to have a community of like-minded individuals to interact with for me personally.

Don't pick threads by the title.

Yes, some are funny.  Funny is ok though.

Also, I don't feel the need to post on EVERYTHING I read.  If my point is made by another I just kudos it and read on.

I agree!

I cannot find anything toward which is worthy of posting.

It's not a 'general decline', it's simply your perception of the content. I've been a member for 5 years and a viewer for nearly 2 years prior to that. In that time, I've seen any number of repeated themes. I've even participated in the theme of this thread twice before. Here are some things to remember which may/may not change your perception:

- new members/viewers join all the time so what's 'old' to you will be new to many. New members may provide refreshing perspectives that rekindle your interest (e.g. I remember a time pre-Esquilax).
- what's 'worthy' is completely subjective: other members/viewers may see more worth in recent posts than older ones
- content in the future may be more 'worthy' to you
- your relationship with other forum members will have an impact in what you find 'worthy': if you want to renew you interest, it may be worth getting in to discussions with new people
- you may simply have reached the end of your 'honeymoon period'

So if you find your interest waning, don't blame the site for 'not having good enough content', just accept that your interest is waning. If you want to do something about it, do it. If not, sometimes even doing nothing is enough as things will change whether you participate in that change or not.

On a serious note, you may have read or participated in the "Ask a" threads section.
We've got everything from molecular biologists to particle physicists to bible experts.
You have an open mike and you're telling us you've got nothing to ask?
Isn't that more a reflection of you than of this group of outstanding scholars and people eager to help.
I can get up and do some Irish dancing for you with Rob and Alex and Min but it doesn't translate well on an internet forum.

Plus we need to know what side of the divide you stand. Horizontal or Vertical?

I made a don't ask me anything thread on the humour section. People still asked me something and I had to answer.

Also, if this is the endtimes, can someone give my number to the whore of babylon? She doesn't know what she is missing.

RE: Decline
I believe one of the mods, maybe bex, maybe not, was making note of something at least similar to the phenomenon in the OP just recently, and putting out a plea that people do a more informative job of titling their threads. I agreed with this, but now, all of a sudden, I see this very problem proliferating.
