A simple question.

RE: A simple question.
Yeah, real numbers are any number you can place on the number line, so that includes fractions, irrational numbers (numbers that have no fraction representation) like pi, etc.

Imaginary numbers require an extra dimension on the number line, and they are the result of square rooting negative number, which cannot be done in "real" mathematics (hence the term "imaginary"). The square root of -1 is i and all imaginary numbers are multiples of i.

Complex numbers are numbers that have a real and an imaginary part, so the number 1 + 2i is a complex number, for example.

RE: A simple question.
0.0r1 wouldn't work at all, because you can't have a 1 on the end of an infinite number of zeros right? So it is indeed undefined then... weird.

Even though that would be the only way to represent the first number following 0: as 'undefinable'. Smile

Well, you could just say it's undefinable (since it can't be represented).

Although the undefinable "number" of 0.0r1 would be the best representation of this undefinable number?

RE: A simple question.
I don't think it's the best way to represent it since it can't exist. The best way to represent it, honestly, may be through " an unidentifiable number". Because the point is that you can't have a one on the end of an infinite number of 0s. That isn't just an undefinable number, that's also an impossible number since it doesn't make mathematical sense - so I think to use it as an undefinable number would be silly :p
