3x + (2X)/2= 3X + X = 4X = 60X = 60/4 = 15
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Well I multiplied both sides with 2 to get rid of the 1/2 😝


If you want to double both sides it is safe to multiply by two but did you multiply the 3x by 2 as well, or only part of that side?

3x + (2x)/2 = 60

1.5x + 2x = 120
3.5x = 120

x ≠ 12

but 

6x + 2x = 120
8x = 120
x = 15

Sorry I can't see how you'd get 12.  I must be rusty.
