See? I have a sense of humor too.

I have no fucking idea what this is supposed to mean.

Dude, I think I've been very polite in all this. I have led you to a place where you know you're wrong. I also think I've been very charitable in that despite a few back-and-forths on the subject, all I'm asking for is admission that you were wrong. No apology, no shaming, no dancing naked. Just admit on this one point you were wrong. That's it. Shit, I'm wrong more than I'd like to be, but I'd also like to think that I am honest enough to admit it. Give it up man, Denmark is NOT a Christian nation.
*emphasis mine*
Once again, The issue is whether or not Denmark has a SECULAR government.

Answer this simple question. What does a "secular government" mean to you?

Huggy,
Please man, I think I've been kind. Forget the Mod shit, just admit you were wrong about Denmark. Everyone watching already knows you're wrong, just admit it.

Does it help if I remind you that 'pride' is one of the seven deadly sins?

What the fuck does it take? I'm quoting directly from the link/study you gave me.
Quote:Although Denmark (and Sweden) is a country in which most of the citizens by tradition belong to the State church, Christianity as a religion does not characterize the life of any large segment of the population. The number of churchgoers on any regular Sunday is below 5 percent of the adult population and even on the religious holidays (with the exception of the Christmas Eve service) doesn’t rise much above that. A good 80 percent of the population can be characterized as “secular” in the sense that religious practices do not play any part in their daily life. Nor do they to any substantial extent support the Christian-Democratic political party—in Denmark that party attracts approximately 2 percent of the voters in general elections.

Are you seriously so fucking stupid that you read the above and still conclude that Denmark is a Christian nation?

Or are YOU too stupid to realize that the ideals of a nations POPULACE can be diametrically opposed to the policies of the GOVERNMENT?

The issue is about the SECULARITY OF THE GOVERNMENT OF DENMARK.

On that note, WHAT DOES HAVING A SECULAR GOVERNMENT MEAN TO YOU? is that clear enough?

Don't come back talking about a "christian nation"....

Hold on, not yet! Are you fucking kidding me? I have him strapped to the rails with my cow-scoop bearing down on him. If he's so proud (one of the seven deadly sins) not to admit defeat in the face of overwhelming evidence then I'll let you pull the whistle cord as the cow-scoop transforms him into mince. Fair?

I'm not sure. He continually keeps using me as his verbal punching bag, which I'm really getting sick of. But, you know... it's a free forum.

Maybe I should grab some popcorn and watch the show unfold?

Bong On second thought... this might be better.

Just because you repeatedly try to derail the point, Huggy, doesn't mean you weren't lying when you said your signature privileges were removed for quoting someone. That is not what happened, but you continue to lie about it.

I'm done here. Can we please stop indulging the Huggy Show, pretty please?

Ah yes, the humility of Christ on display in one of his most ardent followers. Huggy, I used the link you provided to definitively demonstrate that despite Denmark's constitution prescribing an official state government that the country is secular. This is measured by less than 5% of the populace regularly attending service and the fact that Denmark has had five avowed 'atheists' as head of state. Did you also miss the fact that there is only one party that overtly displays their Christian religion, and they haven't won a seat in the legislature since 2001? I'm pretty sure this meets any reasonable definition of a secular government as it is practiced.

What amuses me is that to my knowledge, the United States is the only explicit secular country by definition; given of course by the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Perhaps you didn't get the news, it was ratified in 1791.

You of course will continue to say and believe anything you wish; however, you are simply wrong. There's no amount of hope, deflection, obfuscation, or praying that will change the fact that you are demonstrably wrong. Got it yet? You're fucking wrong!

Since you refuse to define what a having a "secular government" means, ill use Pandæmonium's definition.

It gives people the ability to chose a religion (or no-religion) without the state choosing for then. It prevents a state mandated religion from either existing or enforcing it's rules and dogmas on the body politic.

Now if that's not the 'freedom to chose' I don't know what is.

Tell us what your definition of secularism is. Where do you think it came from and what do you think it seeks to achieve?
*emphasis mine*
Do you agree with that definition?

If that is what secularism is, then DENMARK'S GOVERNMENT IS CLEARLY NOT SECULAR.

Got it?

It's funny you should ask, dude.

I've been reading about the differences between presuppositional apologetics and evidential apologetics, but I have decided what I want to be when I grow up.

Doesn't address my point.

Most, if not all arguments for the existence of god presuppose his existence. So do you. Accusing-falsely, might I add-someone else of having presuppositions is very hypocritical of you.

Just admit to it.
