But how does that work? How does the counter know you're in there?

Well the requirement (IIRC) is to have video chat and that it be a module. Do you know of one that could work? Also, server side ain't so plentiful ATM.

RE: Chat room indicator
server side:
php+ming+html => data source

client side:
ajax+currentpage => displays a changing number by querying data source.

let tiny chat handle all the high level video crap themselves.

RE: Chat room indicator
Adrian already said 'currentpage' picks up last page which is why it wouldn't be possible... ppl would be commonly browsing the forums at the same time therefore not on the chat page as their last page.

Indeed. The forum does track people as they move, but usually when I visit the chat room, I open a new tab with it in, and I then continue to browse the forums.

If you knew anything about the protocols that the web uses, you'd know that would involve a stupid amount of processing power and database calls.

The only way I could implement it would be with a load of JavaScript / AJAX stuff. I don't have the time for doing that at the moment.

RE: Chat room indicator
Surely you just need one flag for the chat page that's set to on : opened and off : closed ?
