There is no god!

Anyway, on to the real discussion.

Reading some of the stupid off the wall stupidity by our 'friends' lately, got me to thinking.

If there were a god, why then would there even be a physical reality?  A god could just create minds and put whatever it wants into these minds.  If that were what god did, then there is no physical reality and no need to make it appear as such.  Surely a god could accomplish all it wanted, even the tyrannical misanthrope of the babble-book, without the need or appearance of any sort of physical reality.

Therefore, because there is a physical reality, there is no god.

For the theists that might want to entertain a thought or two here, this is not a thread for your stupid books or your proselytizing.  This is not about morals, good, evil, or accepting your bullshit god.  If that is your intent, go start your own fucking thread and KEEP OUT!

1) We have no reason to assume god and a physical reality are mutually exclusive.
2) Even "immaterial minds" would need a virtual stage to express themselves globally, hence the illusion of reality
3) What if our physical reality is actually as we perceive it to be, AND was created by "something", (just not the dickhead from the bible?)

Being a stickler for logical correctness as we all are, it's no use bashing the xtards for their fallacies and not use it for our own thoughts.

But yeah, I know what you meant and agree anyway. (Then again, I'm in someone's dream, and have no free will ....they made me say it!)
No God, No fear.

Even if we knew we were immaterial minds and that physical reality was an illusion we would still have to navigate it as if it were not an illusion.

To a certain extent that would be true, but then it begs the question of where to draw the line as in the end, everything is meaningless.
What difference does meaning make when there's no one around for anything to be meaningful to? Does some future point where there is no one left to care retroactively make all previous caring misguided? I think we try to make 'meaning' carry more freight than it can, or needs to.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I do, god told me so. (The little voice inside my head seemed to boom from the heavens. "Pssst ... Do you not think that I could not create a more substantial reality if I really existed?")

I am not disputing that per se, but rather the type of reality.

IMHO it is too simplistic.  It will not be long before science has some amazing answers.  I believe once they get over the dark matter/gravity hurdle there will be no room left for god.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.
-- Superintendent Chalmers

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.

Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral.
