Am I Going To Hell?
#11
RE: Am I Going To Hell?
OP: I think you are asking this mainly to christians, but just for the heck of it, here is the hindu version

1) Am I going to hell? (based off of the sole fact that I am an atheist)
A: Depends on your actions(karma). Paap(bad actions) and Punya(good actions), you get to go to both hell(naraka) and heaven(swarga) in one single afterlife, and then after visiting both places you could be reborn/reincarnated based on your purification level. Yes, it's a bit more complex than that with multiple different layers and types of hell/heaven, but that is supposedly the basic flow of life to afterlife.

2) Why?
A: Because of your karma(actions).

3) Do I deserve it as much as a rapist/ serial killer/ pedophile/ molester?
A: Maybe, maybe not, it depends on your crime and how much you repented in this lifetime.

4) Does a single unrepented/unforgiven sin = Eternal torture?
A: In hinduism, it never is eternal no matter what you did, the longest is around 10,000 years I think (the time varies with the different "yugas").

5) Why do other people of your same faith disagree with your answers to those questions.
A: They do? damn heathens! DIE!!!!!

So, if I am understanding you right, I will spend a finite amount of time in heaven or hell based on everything but my beliefs, but then I will become nothing. Hm.
That is scarily similar to what I believe in. I believe that I will spend a finite amount of time in heave or hell on earth based on everything including my beliefs, but then I will become nothing.

I take a huge grievance with the word forgotten. When will I be forgotten? What if I become famous? I also take grievance with the word nothing. Where does my energy or matter go? The law of conservation of matter and energy says that my body and whatever heat energy I was producing at the time has to go somewhere or change forms. My last few questions regard the phrase, "...you believe in nothing..." Don't tell me what I believe! You are not inside of my head. I believe that religious people are stupid. I believe in love. I believe that I hold no belief when it comes to a god. I believe in thousands of things! Just because I don't believe in your version of their version of that country's version of this continent's version of this planet's version of this god, does not mean I do not hold any beliefs.
What??? Are you an Atheist? The foundation of atheism is not believing in God due to lack of evidence, right? Based on that reasoning you should not believe in an afterlife due to lack of evidence.  The only conclusion that can be made is that you become nothing.  I am not saying you become nothing, you are saying it.  You believe nothing will happen after you die.  And I am saying your wish will be granted, you will become nothing and be forgotten.  Who cares if your are famous, you won't be in any divine form to know it, because you decided not to believe in God and determine nothing is out there.

Why do even care about what happens to your matter and energy after death? You are an atheist, please for God sake don't worry about.

RE: Am I Going To Hell?
Being raised Southern Baptist and then slowly realizing it was all make believe as I got older the mindset of salvation has seemed more ridiculous the more I think of it.

I was considered "saved" by pretty much everyone who knew me growing up. But I unintentionally committed the sin of thinking too much about my religion and being objective in evaluating the uncomfortable truths about it. As a result, I was no longer able to believe. I didn't want to stop believing, it was just what I found to be the obvious truth.

Other Southern Baptists would now say that I was never saved, ever. But here's the thing. Everyone would say I would be in Heaven right now if I had died at 25 before I started deconverting from my religion. Saying in retrospect, based on my life after that age, that I was never saved, really destroys the ability of other Southern Baptists to know with any level of surety that they are really saved.

If you told me at 25 that when I was 30 I would be an atheist I would have been pretty pissed at you and told you not a chance in hell.

No matter what, I couldn't simply decide to believe in god today. No matter how much I wanted to. I could no better force myself to believe in god than I could force myself to believe I was a squirrel. The facts simply prevent me from believing in absurdities.

If the wages of be incredulous based on the facts that reality shows to you is eternal torment in hellfire then I must find fault with the concept of a supposedly loving God that I was raised to believe in. That would be an extremely sadist way of creating reality for humans. If you are truthful about it (which Christians can't seem to be with themselves about) you have to admit a loving god would simply not do that.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa... WHAT?! Are you joking me?! Do you think I can decide what I am going to believe in for the rest of my life like I can decide what my breakfast is this morning? HELL NO! And don't you dare say yes! To prove your position, you choose. Try to become an atheist for 30 seconds. I dare you. Oh wait. You can't? Aw shucks. I guess you can't choose what you believe in.

The rest of your post is all repetition, however my last question is: once I die, do I have a chance to turn to Jesus?

No lies no mistakes, does that bother you that I might know something you don't.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

That's exactly what a loving God would do and has, justice is a great part of love, you probably can't realize it but it's true. I do not know how someone can say they were saved if they in turn reject any belief in God. Someone who's saved should have had a relationship with Him and with that relationship should come knowledge of God. So how can one who claims to once be saved deny the God he had a relationship with, seems impossible to me. Then there's the thing of lying to one's self. I do not believe in once saved always saved, I believe one can give up their salvation, what I do believe is someone who professes to be saved and rejects their salvation, deny the existence of the God who saved him. My opinion you were never saved if you do not believe in God's existence, sorry that's my opinion.

Not in the slightest, old chap Wink
Your persistent delusions are a cause for mild concern as to your mental stability, however.

What kind of justice does your god profess? Stoning adulterers and gays? Slavery? Sacrifice? ETERNAL DAMNATION? Imagine if our court system was like that.

Scenario #1:
Murderer: I killed 5000 people.
Judge: I rule eternal damnation.
Scenario #2:
Atheist: I don't believe in you judge.
Judge: I rule eternal damnation.
