The Ten Commandments

There is only one reference to "the ten commandments" in the Bible. It is found in Exodus 34. As it turns out, these aren't "the ten commandments" that Christians parade as "the two tables of testimony" Moses received on mount Sinai.
Can you guess why?
For some reason, "All that openeth the matrix is mine" and "Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk" (both as the KJV reads) just don't seem to possess the effect that one would hope to derive from timeless wisdom.

Yeah. It is shocking how few christians know what the 10 commandments are. This is probably the first time some of them have even seen them. How relevant can they be?
1-4: God's ego/pettiness
5: Rest, or else
6-9: God's ego/pettiness
10: Finally! Something relevant... Oh.

The idea is, as it states, actually a bit more disgusting, and was apparently a practice of neighboring pagans.

Might be funny and informative to display those in public somewhere and see what happens.

Well, actually that is not what it means - at least according to the Jews, who still follow this commandment to this day. In order for food to be "kosher" they can't mix milk products with meat when cooking. So no milk, cream, or butter in meat dishes. Jews even have separate sets of pots for cooking milk and meat.
I know - it's retarded, but we are talking about religious people...

Now that we have straightened out what we're talking about inre to the 10 commandments, isn't it prudent to now overhaul them into incompatible Jewish, Catholic, Protestant and Mormon versions ?
