It isn't construction; it's discovery. Therein lies the difference. You say values are made up. I say they are already embedded in our nature. Even in the absence of a divinely revealed text, people can still uncover the natural laws that inform our values.

Considering atheists in general don't go around killing and raping, that leaves behaviour which some Christians consider a sin but which doesn't actually hurt anyone.
I could understand there being some jealousy towards being able to freely have sex, masturbate and wear mixed fabrics whenever you want. This is all I can think is meant by "you just want to sin". Because I don't want to hurt people, neither do the majority of atheists.
What the fuck does "sin" do anyway? No one will ever explain it. It makes God cry? Boo fucking hoo.

This is similar to, if not the same as, the Kantian question of whether you’d prefer to live next door to someone who refrains from burning your house down out of fear of going to jail or someone who has no desire to burn your house down. There are differing opinions and it’s far too subjective a judgement call to arrive at an objective conclusion.
If the Church still had its former power to force everyone to give lip service to their opinion, like Chad said, you can lead a horse to water.
PT, why should he see your point or mine? His game is to ignore your point and just keep repeating the same tired things over and over. He has exhausted his cranial creative capacity, as have all the Christians here.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

Sin by the standards set by god.
It’s a sin for two consenting adult men to love one another, but it’s okay for a man to rape a woman as long as he pays her father.
What is sin?
Sin is what you get when free will comes in contact with absolute authority. Free will is your unstoppable eject. Absolute authority is your immovable object. When your unstoppable object comes in contact with your immovable object, you have sin.
Even if there were a god, what I do in bed and who I do it with does nothing to, for or against him, so why should he give a fuck? Christians bring their god down to their level when they insist that he does. This is not a moral standard, this is spiritual forgery—Christians signing god’s name onto their own codified attempts to control people.
