I loved the part where her attorney compared her to a Jew living in Nazi Germany. Hmmm, that seems to mean that he's implying that the Judge is a Nazi.

Clerk Defies Supreme Court, Refuses Gay Marriage Licenses
|
Can someone explain to me why a county clerk is an elected position? It's just a clerical job, right?

She's in jail for contempt.

Oh brothers
So the judge won't say if the marriage licenses will be legal without the clerk's signature. This is a fucking set up. That's all it Elected or not, she could still step down if she can't do her job. When Nixon had to resign, they let Ford finish out his term. Why doesn't the judge make her resign and put one of the deputies in her place? Gays in Kentucky should not se this ruling as a good sign.

Kim Davis had as an elected official a duty to follow the law. But then again so did the clerks who broke the law to issue licenses when it wasn't legal to do so. None of them went to jail. What about the mayors and officials in so called sanctuary cities? None of them are in jail. The US constitution has been tortured to the point where anything can be ratioalized no matter how intrusive. The fact is that our governing authorities ignore the law when it is convenient or fits their adgenda. I mourn the lose of a once great nation.
